Soundtracks to books – an example from Mr Right and Other Mongrels

6/16/2012

I was thinking this morning about what writers use to stimulate them and keep them focussed on their writing. Coffee is popular many. Chocolate for others. Lately I’m hearing lots of Diet Coke talk on twitter. That covers the stimiluation not the focus so much I guess.

What lots of writers do is have a soundtrack for their book. This might be a collection of songs that remind them of the chracters or the place where the book is set.

I wrote a few songs into Mr Right and Other Mongrels. Over the next few weeks I thought I’d share some of the songs or video clips from that book. Here is a wonderful song from the 1980’s by Australian artist Deborah Conway.

Do you remember where it appears in the book? If not read it to find out.

I love to hear the music authors use while writing or for their books!
